3-30-2010 Luba Kliputina selects a variety of tomato plants at, Renfrow Hardware in Matthews, for her plot of land in a Mecklenberg County community garden. Kliputina, who shares land with 14 other gardeners, has participated in community gardening since she moved to the Charlotte area three years ago. In addition to a colorful variety of tomato plants, Kliputina grows peppers, dill, parsley, strawberries, potatoes, and cilantro. She says, with a large smile, her garden is "excellent!"
