Hello, and welcome, I'm Laura Chase! I am a editorial and commercial photographer with a passion for art and storytelling. I began my career interning full-time with The Charlotte Observer and then The Chattanooga Times Free Press, and during these internships, I fell in love with photojournalism and the power of visual storytelling. I later became a full-time, staff photographer at The Capital Gazette, Annapolis' daily newspaper. In 2012, I decided to take the leap as a full-time freelancer and I haven't looked back.
I grew up in Bethesda, Md. and graduated from Walt Whitman High School. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill recruited me as Division I scholarship athlete, and I graduated with a B.A. in Studio Art and earned a varsity letter on the rowing team. As a visual storyteller, I’ve lived and worked in Charlotte, Chattanooga, Baltimore, Belgium, Italy, and France. Currently, I live in Silver Spring, Md. with my husband and adorable son, Henry!
I live to tell stories! My interests know no limits and brainstorming is one of my favorite pastimes, so let's chat. I look forward to hearing from you.
